University of Mysore United Nations 2016
The Department of Studies in Law at the University of Mysore proudly hosted its inaugural Model United Nations (MUN) Conference in February 2016. This landmark event marked the first-ever MUN organized by the University of Mysore, showcasing the department's commitment to academic excellence and practical learning experiences.
The conference focused on the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), a pertinent and timely topic given the global refugee crisis. Participants, representing various countries, assumed the roles of delegates and engaged in rigorous debates and negotiations to address the complex issues surrounding refugees and displaced persons worldwide.
Key to the success of the MUN were the Secretary-General and Chairperson, both students from JSS Law College, Autonomous, Mysore. Their leadership, expertise, and dedication were instrumental in ensuring the smooth conduct of the conference and the engagement of participants.
The MUN not only provided a platform for students to deepen their understanding of international relations and diplomacy but also fostered essential skills such as critical thinking, negotiation, and leadership. It underscored the department's commitment to providing a holistic education that prepares students for the challenges of an increasingly interconnected world.
The Department of Studies in Law extends its sincere gratitude to all participants, faculty members, and supporters who contributed to the success of the MUN Conference. As we look forward to future editions of the MUN, we remain committed to excellence in legal education and nurturing global citizens equipped to address the complexities of our world.
