JSS Law College, established in 1982 as part of JSS Mahavidyapeetha, has a rich history of pioneering legal education in India. Initially offering a three-year law program affiliated with the University of Mysore, the college expanded its offerings in 1984 to include the five-year integrated BAL LL.B program, a rarity at the time in Indian universities. This innovative approach to legal education was embraced by the University of Mysore, which granted the college permanent affiliation in 1995. In 1998, the college achieved a significant milestone by being included under Sections 2(f) and 12(b) of the UGC Act, a recognition of its commitment to providing quality education. The UGC granted autonomy to JSS Law College in 2005, making it the first law college in Karnataka to achieve this status. The School of Law at the University of Mysore is delighted to announce the successful organization of its first edition of the International Model United Nations (MUN) Conference. The conference, held on 2nd March 2020, focused on the agenda of "Impact of cybercrimes on International Security and Human Rights" under the Disarmament & International Security Committee of the United Nations General Assembly. Participants had the opportunity to choose their countries from a country matrix, with each participant representing only one country. Countries were allotted based on preference on a first-come-first-serve basis. The theme of the conference highlighted the growing importance of cybersecurity in the context of international relations and human rights.
